Pioneer DEH-P7100BT

I bought this to replace my old alpine cda9833r.
Specification wise this unit is very similar to my old alpine which is one reason why I chose it and as it has 3 rca pre outs @ 4volt (vital for the setup in my car)
The sound from this unit is excellent, with just a few tweaks of the onboard equaliser settings it delivered a gorgeous sound in my car, plus this time with far better bass than I was getting from the alpine.

The big bonus on this unit is the built in bluetooth for handsfree phone calls. This was real easy to set up and pair my phone and from all calls I have made/received while in the car it has been reported that I sound very clear the other end even when driving with the window open!
Also sound quality is excellent when streaming music off my phone to the unit, which is what I do most of the time.

It looks real nice in the dash especially at night with the lush blue lights, it even light up when switched off, but when you turn your lights on!

I've not used the ipod side or the usb inputs as have neither to use on them.

I do have some cons with this unit though.

1. Using the rotary knob control has taken a bit of getting used to, but I'm getting there now, but can be fiddly when driving, as to press it in sometimes means to skip a cd track by not pushing it centrally enough so I leave well alone till parked up.

2. The fascia is real easy to take off but can be a pain to put on again, again this has taken a bit of getting used to.

All in all this is an excellent unit providing brilliant sound quality and looks good to boot, and for the money you can't go wrong. (Posted on 13/01/2010)
