Alpine Type-X X-W12D4 - 12′′ 30cm 2700W Dual 4Ω DVC Subwoofer Bass Driver

The new X-Series subwoofers are the X-W12D4 12-inch Dual 4 Ohm. They deliver strong bass with tight control, just as expected from premium subwoofers. Key features include:

• 900W RMS, making it a perfect match for the new X-Series X-A90M 900W mono amplifier
• 28mm linear Xmax (1 way), 56 mm peak to peak
• Dual spiders for precision control over the large dynamic range
• Dual shorting rings for strong motor control ensuring low THD and tight bass
• cCenter pole radial heat sink which wicks heat away from the voice coil and transfers it outside the motor, for long term high output
• The biggest HAMR surround yet, for linear cone movement throughout its large range of excursion
• Light but rigid pulp/mica cone which allows for highly accurate bass with great natural tone

Features

Dual Voice Coils

For system flexibility, the woofer has two 4Ω voice coils. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2Ω load; when wired in series, the woofer presents an 8Ω load.

HAMR 

The woofer features a High Amplitude Multi Roll (HAMR) Surround, made of rubber, that allows a large linear excursion and greater SPL. The HAMR design allows extreme excursions without sacrificing valuable cone area.

Dual Progressive Spider

The dual progressive spiders have integrated tinsel leads to ensure reliable and consistent control of the tinsel leads and eliminate any mechanical noise or interference often seen in high excursion cone designs.

Compound Radius Curve Pole Geometry

Alpine's Patented Compound Radius Curve pole geometry ensures a symmetrical magnetic field, while optimizing flux density to reduce distortion and further improve power handling and output.

Oversized Voice Coil

The oversized (65mm) dual voice coils are wound on an aluminum former.

Terminals

The set screw terminals are all located on one side of the woofer. The terminals will accept bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Jumper Plug

A jumper plug on the terminal block allows you to easily wire the voice coils in parallel (for a 2Ω load) or series (for an 8Ω load).
